A place for all…

A niche selection

Social support is one of the most difficult needs to meet when you’re in the military and foster when you’re out.

Through our books and conversations, we strive to facilitate a better understanding of the military lifestyle, a love for new authors and a niche corner of the writing world, support our military families and community, promote a space for lifelong learning, and build connections.

We will tackle hard reads, self-care, resilience, fiction, biographies, historical fiction… If you can think it, we will get to a read- and if you don’t see it, send us your suggestions!

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the BBRR book club work?

Chelley and Maria are just starting out… so far, we have chosen a few books we want to read and we will be sharing throughout the book about our thoughts. We hope to share posts for discussion and, someday even have a live discussion book club as we wrap up each read.

Do I need to be an active participant to join?

We are so new- and we will never impose barriers to joining us for a past or present read!

How are the books selected?

So far, they are books we have found that interest us. Chelley completed her MA in Military Psychology in October 2024 and still has a huge pile of books she would like to get through, while Maria is a resiliency expert and has and incredible amount of reading pertinent to building a strong military community.

Is there a membership fee?

We are not there, yet. And again, we will never impose a barrier to someone. If the time comes where there is a fee for anything- there will always be a waiver. Military life always includes waivers!
